About me
My name is Sanjana Shelar.
I’m Sanjana, a compassionate counselor who works with teens, young adults, and families to navigate challenges and strengthen emotional well-being. With years of experience in social work and education, I offer a warm and thoughtful space for families to better understand neurodiverse ways of thinking, feeling, and connecting. My practice is grounded in care, respect, and inclusion. Here, you and your family can feel supported as you take the next step.

Why Disha?
Disha Psychotherapy was created from a passion for supporting families through their mental health and neurodiversity journeys. After years as a teacher and social worker, I’ve seen how resilient young people are, even when they feel alone facing life’s toughest challenges. Sometimes, all they need is a bit of support at the right time.

Many parents struggle to connect with their teens. Today’s world is very different from the one they grew up in. Often, parents haven’t fully addressed their own teenage struggles, leaving them unsure of how to help their children. At Disha, we work together to bridge that gap. Our goal is to help both teens and parents find the words and tools they need to build stronger, more connected lives.

This work is personal to me. As someone who grew up with undiagnosed ADHD and autism, I know how hard it can be to navigate life without the right support. That experience fuels my commitment to helping neurodiverse teens and adults get the understanding and care they deserve—so they never have to feel alone on their journey.
